Welcome

The Swan is a privately owned premises providing a safe, traditional venue for eating and drinking in the centre of Shepton Mallet.

By serving local ales to a high standard The Swan
was in the 2009 CAMRA Good Beer Guide and is now in the 2010 Guide. We serve genuinely homemade food for over 85% of the menu and will tell you if something is not homemade before you order. We were awarded the Safer Socialising Award in January 2008 and are proud to be the first pub in Mendip accredited with this award.

The staff will provide a friendly welcome and efficient customer service making the pub the perfect destination for special occasions, casual lunches or a pint and a friendly chat. At present meals are served within the bar but a dedicated dining area is being created. We also provide business breakfasts and competitive outside catering; please ask for details.

Our historic Somerset town, home of the famous 'Babycham' perry, on the edge of the Mendip Hills, is ideally placed for the Royal Bath & West ShowgroundThe Musical Theatre School the Amulet, the historic city of Wells, Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole caves, Bath and Bristol.

Wall to Wall Productions on behalf of the BBC are using nearby empty properties in the town centre to record how shops have changed from 1870 to 1970. This project is due to be televised in the autumn.

Shepton Mallet is generally undergoing exciting changes as many properties are being returned to a more traditional appearance with many frontages being renovated including the front of The Swan. For full details please click on the Building Work link above.
